Welcome to Roll Wit It, where fun, fitness, and mental well-being come together! Our roller skating disco events offer an exciting way to stay active while enjoying great music, vibrant lights, and an inclusive community.

 

But we go beyond just skating! Our events also feature mental health workshops designed to help you de-stress, build resilience, and connect with others in a supportive environment & lots more. Whether you’re looking to boost your mood, improve your confidence, or simply have a blast on wheels, we’ve got you covered.

Weekend Roller Discos

Free Personal Development & Young Leadership Games Programme

Fridays 16th & 23rd May 2025
St. Mary’s Youth Club, Obins Street, Portadown

Join us for two exciting evenings of free personal development and leadership games with former Manchester United and Wigan player Pat McGibbon! This unique programme is part of a mental health initiative, generously supported by six local businesses, aimed at promoting well-being through sport and fun activities for all abilities.

 

Schedule of Events:
    •    Young Leadership & Development Games
: 6:15pm – 7:15pm (FREE)
    •    Roller Skating Session: 7:30pm – 8:30pm (£6.50 including skate hire)
Promotional discount available for St. Mary’s Youth Club members on these two nights.

Come along, get active, build new skills, and enjoy some high-energy fun. Open to everyone – don’t miss it!

 

Overview

This programme is designed to help young people build confidence, leadership skills, and emotional resilience through fun, inclusive, and structured games led by an experienced mentor. The sessions are part of a broader mental health initiative and feature the involvement of Pat McGibbon, a former professional footballer and mental health advocate.

Programme Goals
    •    Develop Leadership Skills: Learn how to lead, communicate effectively, and work as a team.
    •    Boost Personal Confidence: Through supportive group activities and encouragement.
    •    Promote Mental Well-Being: Use physical activity as a tool to relieve stress and improve mental health.
    •    Encourage Inclusion & Participation: All abilities welcome – everyone plays a part.
    •    Inspire Through Sport: Pat McGibbon shares real-life lessons from football and leadership.

What to Expect in the Sessions (6:15–7:15 PM)
    •    Icebreakers and team-building games
    •    Leadership challenges and small-group tasks
    •    Short talks/discussions on resilience, motivation, and positive mental health
    •    Interactive physical games promoting cooperation, quick thinking, and empathy

Followed by: Roller Skating Fun (7:30–8:30 PM)

Unwind and socialise through roller skating – a fun, high-energy activity that brings everyone together.  Highly encouraged includes disco lights and music!
